Congress Member of Parliament and sacked Commonwealth Games Organising Committee chief Suresh Kalmadi on Thursday withdrew his plea seeking permission to attend the Monsoon Session of Parliament from the trial court, saying he will approach the Delhi high court for the same. Special Central Bureau of India Judge Talwant Singh accepted Kalmadi's submission that the high court was the appropriate forum to decide his plea for custody parole to attend Parliament.

Congress Member of Parliament and sacked chief of Commonwealth Games Organising Committee Suresh Kalmadi on Saturday requested a Delhi court to grant him custody parole to attend the monsoon session of Parliament beginning August 1. "Accused Suresh Kalmadi has moved an application seeking permission from the court to attend the Parliament session. A notice will be issued to the CBI for Monday," said a CBI source.

Air India on Friday opposed before the Delhi high court the reinstatement and payment of back wages to over 40 pilots, saying that unless resignation is specifically made prospective, it is effective immediately and a pilot cannot withdraw it subsequently. "Unless otherwise specified, resignation is effective immediately. "There is no competence (with pilots) to withdraw on the ground that I am still serving notice period," Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing Air India, told a bench headed by Justice Rajiv Shakdher.

Delhi high court judge Justice S Muralidhar was on Wednesday transferred to the Punjab and Haryana high court. A government notification about the transfer was issued on Wednesday which said that after consultation with Chief Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde, President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday transferred Justice S Muralidhar, judge of the Delhi high court, as judge of Punjab and Haryana high court. The notification further said the President has directed Muralidhar to assume charge of his office in Punjab and Haryana high court.
